Trishul Jatra is one of those
festivals that NGOs love to focus on - cruelty to children is the issue
(and cultural imperialism...). Still, it goes on. My
calendar said it's today, but actually it was yesterday, July
4th. Sometimes these dates are tenuous, and need to be verified
before the event. The advantage of hindsight is that I found a
very good report of yesterday's jatra on the internet today.
